Includes Apollo 17 liftoff, interviews with Philco engineers, and behind the scenes video of Mission Control, and rescue of the damaged SKYLAB ONE space craft, making it useful again. Excellent quality images. Color, 22 minutes. Original Unedited film, titled "A Giant Step in Communication." (Historical, Educational) Philco-Ford was NASA's prime contractor on designing and implementing the Mission Control Center operational display, tracking and communications systems. Philco produced transistors, satellites, communication systems, computers, radar, radio, television and many other products.
