120816 Like and subscribe. This is an archive, check the link in the end if you are owner. Get a glimpse into the life of the famed physicist and chemist, born Marie Sklodowska on November 7, 1867. She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize (eventually two), and her work isolating the two radioactive elements, Polonium and Radium was achieved despite the continuing challenges of a woman in what were then almost exclusively male-dominated fields. The importance of her work is well documented in the many honorary science, law and medicine degrees and honorary memberships in prestigious societies all over the world. Still, she was known to be quiet, dignified and unassuming, described by Albert Einstein as one who "of all celebrated beings, the only one whom fame has not corrupted."
