Robert Cedric Sherriff was an English writer best known for his play Journey's End, which was based on his experiences as an army officer in the First World War. He wrote several plays, many novels, and multiple screenplays, and was nominated for an Academy Award and two BAFTA awards

1. St. Helena
St Helena: a play in twelve scenes is a play by the English author R. C. Sherriff and Jeanne de Casalis (who also researched it). It deals with the exile of Napoleon I on Saint Helena. In a production by Henry Cass, it premiered at the Old Vic on 4 February 1936 to poor reviews, but was rescued by a letter to The Times by Winston Churchill, calling it "a remarkable play" and "a work of art of a very high order"

2. The Long Sunset
A Roman family during the last days of Roman Britain. Julian Severus lives near Canterbury when he hears the Romans are abandoning Britain.

3. Journey's End
Journey's End is a 1928 dramatic play by English playwright R. C. Sherriff, set in the trenches near Saint-Quentin, Aisne towards the end of the First World War. The story plays out in the officers' dugout of a British Army infantry company from 18 March 1918 to 21 March 1918, providing a glimpse of the officers' lives in the last few days before Operation Michael.

4. Home at Seven
Home at Seven is a 1950 British mystery play by R.C. Sheriff. The original production, starring Ralph Richardson, opened at the Theatre Royal, Brighton in February 1950. It transferred to Wyndham's Theatre in the West End on 7 March 1950, for a run of 342 performances. Variety called it "one of the major successes of the legit season." (Wikipedia)
