070220 Like and subscribe. This is an archive, check the link in the end if you are owner. In mid-January there was a Tesla story that broke around Nassim Taleb's $4,333 accidental Tesla Upgrade. Basically, the Tesla app's design patterns allowed him to butt-dial the upgrade. And Tesla's customer service response turned out to be challenging and not helpful. Let's take a closer look at Tesla’s software design, how Nassim Taleb may have gotten in this situation, and if Tesla may have used dark patterns in their software design.

UPDATE: Tesla has updated the software no-refund policy giving you 48 hours. It's awesome to see how quickly Tesla rolls with issues like this and makes corrections. Step in the right direction with the upgrade flow.
