Incredible documentary on Our Lady of Guadalupe from St.Luke to Spain to Mexico. Includes detailed analysis of the "painting" with interviews and scientific proof of its many miraculous attributes. Some reenactments help to animate the story.
December 1531, Mexico. The Virgin Mary appears to a Mexican Indian, Juan Diago, but nobody believes him. On Her request the humble peasant wraps in his "tilma" some Castilian roses, mysteriously flowering on a bare, rocky hillside in the middle of winter. In front of the Bishop he opens his cape (tilma) discovering the miracle: the miraculous image of the Virgin is impressed upon it.
The image is extraordinarily real. The results of analysis are amazing. In the Virgin's eyes the 13 figures who witnessed the miracle are visible. The stars on her cloak are positioned exactly as they were in the miracle's day (12.12.1531). As was there a crescent moon. The painting technique used is unknown and the image is not even attached to the cloak. The colors and organic cloak have remained intact for centuries, through acid burns, the cathedral bombing and normal environmental effects. Analysis of the "paint" used, determined there is no material on earth that matches its composition.
And that's not all: an extraordinary discovery reveals the Spanish origin (from Extremadura, Spain) of the name of Guadalupe and its incredible connection with the Evangelist Saint Luke.
