Anne Conway, or Viscountess Conway, was an English philosopher whose work defied philosophers such as Descartes and Hobbes, and was a major influence on Gottfried Leibniz philosophical system, the monadology. Anne never saw the impact of her work, as it was published post-mortem by van Helmont, who also received the credit.

A key feature of Conway’s system is perfectibility, meaning, all created beings have the potential to increase in perfection. This and other features of her philosophical system paved the path of modern ideas of evolutionary biology.

Her name was lost and forgotten in history. No more.
