The Muslim Conquest of Spain

The Muslim Conquest of Spain occurred in the year 711, and was completely accomplished within less than a year. This is technically part three of my series on the early Muslim expansion, which was a response to a viewer request. Part one was the Muslim Conquest of Egypt, and Part two was the conquest of the Maghreb. In this video, we go into the background of Visigoth Spain, and how it was established during the collapse of the Western Roman Empire. This conquest of Spain was the swiftest of the three, and occurred as a result of both treachery and the general ill-preparedness of the Visigoth kingdom.
