Putin: Confidence in the dollar is gone

Traditional reserve currencies such as the U.S. dollar and the euro have lost their credibility as a basis for international settlements, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Eastern Economic Forum.

"Western countries have undermined the foundations of the global economic system. Trust in the dollar, the euro and the pound sterling as currencies for transactions, assets and reserves has been lost," he said.
