Converting a Hay Field to a Diverse Cover Crop Food Plot - NO Till Method
1 year ago
4
To convert a hay field to a food plot. We turned this field full of grass that deer dont eat into a diverse cover crop by doing a burn-down spray to the existing vegetation and drilling the seeds through the dead grass.
By using no till methods, we dont have to disturb the soil and dry it out. The dead grass will prevent the sun from baking the soil and help hold moisture for the tender new plants.
I will come back in a month and we will see what kind of growth we have and how the deer are using it.
