Rockets Strike Near Jerusalem as Israel-Gaza Conflict Escalates

For the first time in four days of intense fighting between Israel and Gaza militants, rockets have reached an area close to Jerusalem. A rocket from Gaza landed near the Jewish settlement of Bat Ayin in the occupied West Bank, south of Jerusalem. Israel responded by attacking militant sites in Gaza, targeting areas used by militants.

Efforts for a ceasefire are underway, with Egypt mediating between the two sides. The death toll continues to rise, with 31 people killed in Gaza, including civilians, and one Israeli killed by rocket fire.
