Welcome to the second of a three part series of episodes entitled: The Quiet Rebellion Series.

This episode is called "The Prayer Posture of Rhythmic Stillness"

In this episode, Shelley and I discuss what real prayer looks like in stillness and steady consistency based on Tyler Staton's book, "Praying like Monks, Living like Fools."

Prayer is a practice that has existed since man came to be. God made us, and therefore, communion with Him is the most natural thing possible. However, over time, and especially in the post-idustrial age, mankind began to more acutely suffer from an absence of dynamic interaction with his Creator. Our modern era has dramatically modified the kind of interaction that, even our parents, have had with stillness and rhythm in life, routine, and - often the most vastly overlooked - prayer. Here we explore the ancient nature of stillness and prayer continuity compared to our current nature of trying to fit prayer in somewhere.

The major areas of conversation center around:

Modern movement with ancient stillness in all aspects of life
Hurry being the deepest pang with which man is currently afflicted
How conformity to hurriedness inculcates and foments with it also a conformity to thoughtless compliance and "proper attitudes" with regard to interaction in society. This conformity is often an acceptance of conformity to a non-Biblical thought, and therefore, action pattern.
Hurry kills love
The need to relearn stillness and rhythmic interaction with prayer and life
Relinquishing the Illusion of Control to Find Peace
