Harnwell: EU’s chief diplomat warns China will “take geopolitical advantage” of any Russian defeat

The former speaker of the European Parliament and present head of the EU’s foreign policy — Josep Borrell — wrote a secret memo to the foreign ministers of the 27 countries of the European Union.

The memo (which was leaked to the FT) shows an awareness — totally lacking elsewhere in the West — that the geopolitical balance of power will shift in China’s favour — to the EU’s detriment — if Russia loses its war with Ukraine.
