The legendary masterpiece "Rurouni Kenshin -Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story-", which has received support from all generations and all over the world, with a cumulative total of 72 million copies of the comic series and a total of 19.3 billion yen in the live-action movie series, will be a new TV animation in 2023. revive as a series.
The original work by Nobuhiro Watsuki was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in 1994, and in 1996 it was made into a TV animation for the first time. Since then, it has undergone numerous developments such as OVA and theatrical movies, and now "Rurouni Kenshin -Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story-Hokkaido Edition-" is being serialized in "Jump SQ."
This long-awaited work aims to reconstruct the original story from the first episode using the latest animation technology, aiming to create an anime "Rurouni Kenshin" that can appeal to current anime fans.
For the production, talented staff such as director Hideyo Yamamoto ("Strike the Blood") and series composition Hideyuki Kurata ("Made in Abyss") gathered. The cast members, including Soma Saito, will be renewed as Kenshin Himura. In addition, the original author, Nobuhiro Watsuki, will personally supervise the entire story, including character design and scenario.
The new TV anime "Rurouni Kenshin" has been serialized for about 30 years. A classic and universal story that never fades, once again vividly reflecting the fierce beliefs of the characters.
