Kaitie Leising is the St. Croix County (WI) sheriff’s deputy who was shot and killed last night while responding to a vehicle in a ditch. She was 29.

“We will miss her infectious smile and personality,” said Sheriff Scott Knudson.

Leising’s body is being taken right now from St. Paul to Baldwin, WI - large crowds of people and first responders have gathered on bridges over I-94 to pay respects.
