Dubai was a small town in the United Arab Emirates that relied heavily on pearling and fishing for its economy. It was a sparsely populated area with a population of around 85,000 inhabitants living in small fishing and pearling villages. However, in 2020, it has been transformed into one of the most modern and luxurious cities in the world with a population of over 3 million people.

Dubai’s transformation has been largely fueled by its ambition to be the leading global business, finance and tourism hub of the Middle East. It has invested heavily in infrastructure and modern technologies, such as efficient and extensive transportation networks, telecommunications, energy, and water provision. It has also aggressively renegotiated and reformed taxation, business registration and incentives to attract foreign investors and businesses. In addition, it has dramatically improved its tourist attractions with leisure opportunities as well as extravagant shopping, night-life, and entertainment areas.

The transformation of Dubai from a small fishing town to a dynamic, cosmopolitan city has been nothing short of astonishing. It has become a global business and finance hub, a provider of innovative services and a haven for tourists and leisure-seekers, all within the span of a few decades. It continues to set new standards of unrivaled development and progress far beyond expectations.
