Latvian policemen detaining an elderly man goes viral

A video showing five Latvian policemen detaining an elderly man goes viral. The reason for the detention was an attempt to lay flowers at the place where the monument to Soviet soldiers was once located. The video shows how five men surrounded the pensioner and dragged him by force to the police car to the indignant cries of witnesses.

After May 9, 26 people in total were detained in Latvia, four criminal cases and 38 administrative cases were initiated. Earlier, the Latvian parliament passed a law that banned the public celebration of Victory Day and allowed only events related to the celebration of Europe Day.
