You may remember John Coffman from several years ago. We carried knives from Dragonfly Blade Works when we formerly had knives on the Fiddleback Outpost main site, many moons before starting KnifeOutpost.com.

John Coffman of Dragonfly Blade Works is part of the Fiddleback Family, since he is a former apprentice of Andy Roy at Fiddleback Forge. John was fortunate enough to work at Fiddleback Forge years ago when several top notch makers worked out of the same shop, names like Russell Reece of Cohutta Knife Co, Dylan Fletcher of Fletcher Knives, Allen Surls or WA Surls, Chris Linton of Osprey Knife and Tool, and of course, Andy Roy of Fiddleback Forge. He was also there at a time when Fiddleback was pumping out 30-40 knives per week! He's also been a student of the knife industry, from the inside, for several years as well. So, to say he's had his hands on a few blades over the years is an understatement.

Dragonfly Blade Works isn't a clone of Fiddleback Forge as some might assume by his lineage, although you can see influences clearly in the processes like cleanly executed handle liners, pins, and spalted textures on A2 Steel. It's also likely you'll spot some influences from a few of the other makers listed above as well. But make no mistake, John Coffman has his own style and designs that put the user experience and intended purposes front and center.

We're super excited to have Dragonfly Blade Works on Knife Outpost. We think everyone will enjoy John's knives. On top of that, he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever care to meet. I don't know about you, but when I carry something with someones mark on it, I'd preferably like the person as much as I like the work they do.
