ACLU files lawsuit to block new Biden policy limiting asylum eligibility

The American Civil Liberties Union and several immigration groups filed a lawsuit to block the Biden administration’s latest policy limiting asylum for migrants. The new rule took effect Thursday and bars migrants who traveled through other countries from seeking asylum in the United States. Immigration advocates argue the policy breaks U.S. and international law while putting migrants in harm’s way.
