Beating big Pharma games: Mounjaro pen disassembly to get partial doses.

The Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) injector pens are designed to give you a fixed dose, a full pen at a time. They charge about the same price no matter what dose is in the pen, which is ridiculous. The 2.5mg pen is the same cost as the 15mg pen in most cases. So I got the 15mg version and I take them apart to make the smaller doses that I need. You can easily save half or more for lower doses.

I'm using 2.5mg every 3-4 days, so an effective dose of 5-6mg per week. This means one pen gives me over two weeks, cutting the cost to less than half. I'm doing it twice a week because the half-life of this drug is only 117 hours, or less than five days. This means that on a weekly dose, by day 5, you have less than half of it in your body. That seems bad to me, so by dosing twice a week I keep things more stable.

I've also used the generic lyophilized (dry) powder that you have to reconstitute yourself, but had mixed results. I think vendors have different varying potency/efficacy, so I'm trying the real Mounjaro now to compare them. I don't know yet if there's a huge difference, but I had side effects right away from this dose, and my last few of the powder have had little effect, or not as quickly.

There is no medical advice given in this video in any way, just sharing what I have done. I'm an idiot. You shouldn't take medical advice from a rando on the internet. Do your own research and make your own decisions.
