Watch: International Nurses Day celebrated annually around the world

International Nurses Day is celebrated annually around the world on the
birthday of Florence Nightingale, who is considered the founder of
modern day nursing. The Minister of Health, Dr Joe Phaahla and Deputy Minister, Dr Sibongiseni Dhlomo on Friday, 12 May joined the provincial health authorities, nurses and leaders of nursing unions at an International Nurses Day commemorative event as part of countrywide activities to honour nurses for the important role they play in saving millions of lives, and to raise awareness of the challenges they face.
