Resident Evil Director's Cut (PSOne and PSN)

The Director's Cut of the game, released about a year and a half after the original, contained the original version and a new mode, called Arrange, with several modifications. Chris, Jill and Rebecca got new outfits, and the characters' original outfits are available in the closet, which doesn't need a key to open. To breathe new life into the game, new camera angles have been added, and items and enemies appear in different locations than the originals. The Beretta, now silver, is capable of performing critical hits, blowing zombies' heads off with just one shot.

Resident Evil 1 Versions - Clothes

One of the innovations brought by the Director’s Cut version ended up being made official in the Remake released years later and in RE: The Umbrella Chronicles: Forest’s transformation into a zombie. Instead of being attacked by crows on the terrace of the mansion, it is now the Bravo team member himself who comes back from the dead to attack you, faster and more powerful than normal zombies. The Director's Cut version also featured a beginners' mode ("training mode"), in which the amount of ammunition and ink ribbons is doubled and the game accompanied a demo version of Resident Evil 2, which would be released the following year.
