083: The Bible, Violence, and Heresy
We have heard that the Bible teaches to love our enemies and turn the other cheek. If that were the whole story, then we would rightly conclude that so much of history, even Biblical history, is in direct contradiction of these rules.
But what if those two phrases were spoken in a greater context? And what if that context was visible through Bible as a whole?
In this episode, we dig back into various moral foundations when it comes to Violence. From the Old Testament and the Ten Commandments, to Just War Theory, to the tension between mercy and justice, we look at how we might understand violence through a Biblical Worldview.
Starting, of course, with heresies and their collapse.
