Patience Worth was a ghostwriter who produced numerous works between 1913-1937, including seven books, volumes of poetry, short stories, plays, and fascinating conversations. Pearl Lenore Curran claimed to be undereducated and unimaginative and began playing with an Ouija board in 1912 with her friends. On June 22nd, 1913, Pearl's life changed when Patience Worth, a ghost, possessed the board and started spinning a tale that would change the literary world forever. Patience explained that she came from "across the sea" and lived between 1649-1694. Scholars believed that Patience Worth was just an extension, alter ego, or a case of past life of Pearl Curran. Despite the debate, Patience Worth's best story is the history she left behind.
