Tony Ferguson - the biggest tease in the UFC

No fighter has teased so much and delivered so little as Tony Ferguson. He was on track to become the next big draw in the UFC. He began this journey at UFC 166 in 2013 and remained unbeaten until 2020 racking up 12 wins in a row. With Khabib dominating the division, Tony felt like the perfect guy to hand him a loss but their fight never happened. In all, their fights got canceled 5 times. In 2015, Khabib broke his rib 2 months before the fight. In 2016, Tony developed a lung issue just 11 days before the fight. In 2017, Khabib had weight-cutting issues. 2018 featured the freakiest of accidents with Tony injuring his knee after he tripped on some wires at a press conference. Covid canceled the final time these two were scheduled to meet. Khabib has since retired and with 5 consecutive losses, Tony has lost all momentum. It is such a shame as Tony had all the ingredients to become a true MMA legend.
