"The authority is total," is what Trump revealed about the secret power of the US presidency. This is not a problem so much of a deep state or shadow government, but rather that just under its skin the US is in fact a dictatorship. Congress has done next to nothing to demand the release of these documents, or to bring charges against those who have clearly undermined and essentially overthrown the Constitution. America's "domestic enemies" rule right at the top of the system.
