(S214) We’re at a frightening point in time. The media is now serving a government with whom they are supposed to maintain an adversarial relationship. Of particular concern is the role that the intelligence community has come to play within corporate media. Today, former government or intelligence community officials are no longer just guests - they're directly hired by the network to cut out the middleman. The role of traditional media was to challenge our government - to operate on the assumption that the government is inclined to lie to the American public and push back or uncover those lies. But today's Corporate media has completely forsaken that role and is now openly presenting messaging from the government – at the government's direction and in open opposition to the best interests of American citizens. They’ve become the propaganda arm of the intelligence community and the larger Washington establishment. They’re not the media. They’re not even political insiders. They’re political operatives.
