At a White House press briefing on Thursday, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas said that immigrants who do not use available, lawful ports of entry will be subject to harsher consequences. Sec. Mayorkas added that eligible migrant families will be placed in expedited removal proceedings.
