At a White House press briefing on Thursday, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas said the current border crisis was the outcome of Congress leaving a broken, outdated immigration system in place for over two decades. Sec. Mayorkas called on Congress to enact legislation that would reform the immigration process and allocate necessary resources to the border.
