In 16% of marriages, the wife earns more than the husband

The number of women making more money than their husband has tripped in the last 50 years from 5% to 16% of couples.
Couples that were married in the late 1960s and 1970s were 70% more likely to divorce if the wife earned the same amount or more than the husband.
Couples married in the 1990s were only 4% more likely to divorce if the wife earned more than the husband.
Many families cannot rely on a single breadwinner. The median cost for an infant in daycare ranges from $8,000 to $17,000 a year in major cities.
It is my opinion that men who are secure in their manhood can be comfortable with their wives earning more money than them, as well as intelligent women in general. Open communication, and viewing money as a shared asset, are key to a healthy and successful marriage.
