Many people are slandering Kannegiser by calling him a homosexual, because he avenged his fellow cadets and soldiers who were executed by the treacherous Bolshekivs. There is not a single accurate source, nor a shred of proof to this slanderous remark that calls Kannegiser a homosexual. They are based on a person who knew a person, who knew a person who might have known Leonid Kannegiser.

I asked a friend to find Russian sources on the matter, below you will find testimonies from his best friend, his girlfriend/lover, his father and also, a poem from Kannegiser himself. You will find nothing but heterosexual comments and his appreciation for women.

Kannegiser's best friend.
From the letter written by Sergey Esenin to V. Chernyavsky:

K. came to visit me then. We walked on foot to Ryazan and to the monastery that was far away from Ryazan. He really liked our village. We were roaming the meadows often, started bonfires in the hills and were listening to talyanka (musical instrument). I took him to the village street, too. He really liked the peasant girls. He enjoyed the visit so much that he wanted to come again.

Kannegiser's girlfriend and lover.
From the memoir of Olga Arbenina-Gildebrandt:

It happened already during the war (World War I).. Once, following Lyova's (Lyova = endearment name for Leonid Kannegiser) request, I was selling daisies to raise money for the wounded, but I have never visited his home. I remember our rare meetings with Lyova in the fall and in the early spring, when we were walking around the streets or riding carriages. (After we had enough walking, he used to put me in a carriage and take me home). He got to confess his love for me and even asked me to marry him, having told me that he wants to get baptized. I didn't really believe that, but I was always happy to see him, his black-eyed beauty, and hear his deep soft voice.

Thirty years later, Olga Arbenina-Gildebrandt will mention Kannegiser again in her diary:

January 22, 1946. Do I really bring death to those whom I love and who love me? Gumilyov and Lyonya (Kannegiser) died. Balmont lost his mind and died. Mandelstam died. I bring bad luck, I, who was told that I was a symbol of happiness and love.

Poem written by Kannegiser for Olga:

I am falling like a cut-down vine
Chopped by an artificial sickle
My beloved woman does not love me
But I don't want to look sad...

Excerpt from the interrogation record of Ioakim Kannegiser, Leonid's father, after Leonid's arrest for the murder of Uritsky:

"I, Kannegiser, engineer, serve in the Central People's Industrial Committee as a member of the board. My son Leonid did not live in my household recently. He has a civil-law wife, with whom he lives. I don't know her, nor do I know their address. I did not know my son killed Uritsky until I was arrested. My son never told me he was preparing to do such a thing..."
