Children's commissioner: Pornography affecting 8-year-olds' behaviour

Children as young as eight are being affected by viewing pornography, according to a report by the children's commissioner for England. Dame Rachel De Souza has called for tech companies to do more to remove the images, and for schools to provide better education and for parents to set appropriate boundaries.

The report states that most children first saw pornography on social media. At the most serious end of the problem, children were using the language of violent pornography and it was affecting their behaviour.

Most children see porn first on Twitter, and then on Snapchat, as well as accessing the porn companies. The report has called for better education in schools and for parents to set appropriate boundaries for their children. Children were found to be using the language of violent pornography and it was affecting their behaviour.

What can be done to protect children from the effects of pornography, and who should be responsible for taking action?
