A Department of Homeland Security Official said U.S. Border Patrol officials apprehended more than 10,000 migrants attempting to cross the southern border on Tuesday. The Biden administration was anticipating less than this number of migrants after Title 42 lifts on Thursday. As of Wednesday morning, there are more than 28,000 migrants in U.S. Customs and Border Protection custody.
