Trustee Linda Stone, a client of the Justice Centre, was censured by the Durham District School Board (the “Board”) and excluded from committee meetings for exercising her freedom of expression and for voicing her constituents’ concerns about the Board’s policies around race, sexuality, and gender. As of February 2023, she has also been barred from attending any Board committee meetings for the rest of this year, effectively prohibiting her from being able to carry out her duties as an elected official.
