1,500 DoD personnel were recently sent down to the US southern border in early May of 2023, as per Commander-in-Chief Joe Biden's order. US military personnel are barred from participating in civilian law enforcement according to the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, except when expressly authorized by law.
