'Bringing a trophy home would be a GOOD END TO A BAD SEASON!' | Jarrod Bowen | West Ham v AZ Alkmaar

West Ham United players went through their final preparations for Thursday’s UEFA Europa Conference League semi-final as they trained at their east London base on Wednesday.

David Moyes’s side will take on Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar in the first leg at the London Stadium in their second European semi-final in two seasons.

This time last year the English Premier League side lost out to eventual winners Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 on aggregate at the same stage of the UEFA Europa League, their first European semi-final since 1976.

Their run in the Conference League has been impressive with them taking maximum points in the group stage before despatching AEK Larnaca 6-0 over two legs in the last 16 and Belgian side Genk 5-2 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.

AZ, meanwhile, are fourth in the Eredivise following Saturday’s 0-0 draw with third-placed Ajax and knocked out Anderlecht on penalties in the quarter finals of this competition last month.

The winners of this leg will face either Fiorentina or FC Basel in next month’s final in Prague.
