Ingredients:

8 pieces of chicken (drumsticks, thighs, or a combination)
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:

Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl and pour the buttermilk over them. Make sure each piece is coated in buttermilk. Cover the bowl and let the chicken marinate in the buttermilk in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and black pepper.

Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and let the excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the seasoned flour mixture, making sure it is well coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.

Fry the chicken in the hot oil in batches until it is golden brown and crispy, about 12-15 minutes per batch. Use tongs to carefully turn the chicken over halfway through cooking to ensure even browning.

Remove the chicken from the oil with a slotted spoon and place it on a wire rack set over a baking sheet to drain off any excess oil.

Serve the crispy fried chicken immediately while it is still hot and crispy. Enjoy!
