Canada to help train Ukrainian soldiers in Latvia – May 10, 2023

Defence Minister Anita Anand and her Latvian counterpart Ināra Mūrniece hold a joint news conference following their bilateral meeting in Ottawa. They announce their two countries will jointly deliver leadership development training for Ukrainian junior officers in Latvia, beginning as early as May 15. The training program will complement other Canadian efforts to support Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing invasion.
