Jean-Pierre: ‘There Are Challenges at the Border’ that Biden ‘Has Taken Seriously from Day One’

Jean-Pierre: “There are challenges at the border. This is something that the President has taken seriously from day one, putting forth a comprehensive piece of legislation to deal with immigration reform, something that has been a problem for the past several decades. The system has been broken for the past several decades.”

REPORTER: “...The President speak out about Title 42 share a message that Mayorkas has given or you know — you know, something to that effect. What we hear from the president on Title 42?”

Jean-Pierre: “Well, I would say you heard from the president this — this past Friday. He did a — he did a interview, a sit down interview with one of the networks and talked about Title 42, talked about immigration. So the American people did hear directly from the president on this issue. I don’t have anything else to share in the next couple of days about the president’s schedule. So, I’ll just leave it there. But he was asked a question and he answered it.”

REPORTER: "Should the Vice President be involved in today’s meeting since she’ll, be here in the country, while the president is away?"

Jean-Pierre: "So the President is is closely... has been closely consulting with the Vice President on this. They have have had several conversations on this issue and so again when it comes to issues that matter to the American people, they’re very much partners."
