The game was a huge commercial success and received rave reviews and was highly influential.[1] This game was succeeded by a very large amount of games and related media.

Introduction

In Tomb Raider, the player controls archeologist Lara Croft. The game presents a series of tombs, dungeons and other locations in a fully 3D world, where the player has to guide Lara, killing dangerous animals and other supernatural creatures, while collecting objects and solving puzzles. In more recent games, Lara's targets have been human, leading many critics to claim that the game was too violent. Tomb Raider has become a classic platform game.
Characteristics

Lara can run, jump, hang from ledges, do somersaults, swim, push objects and interact with some elements of the scenery. Lara has two pistols with infinite ammo. There is also a shotgun, two magnums and two Uzis that can be found throughout the game.

There are numerous enemies and lethal traps during the adventure. There are several types of puzzles in the game. The player finds medicine, ammo, and sometimes new weapons.

The first game in the series was published by Eidos Interactive for the PlayStation, Sega Saturn and PC. It was one of the games responsible for Sony's rise in the video game industry.
Plot

Lara Croft is in search of a three-piece artifact known as the Scion. Lara was hired by Jacqueline Natla, a successful businesswoman. Lara begins her adventure in Vilacabamba, a city in Peru, and then leaves for Greece, Egypt and the legendary lost continent of Atlantis.
