Gjergj Kastrioti, better known as Skanderbeg, was the hero of Albania. He was born in Kruja in 1405. As the son of an Albanian prince, he received a good education.

As a young man, he fought in the Ottoman army but could not abandon his homeland. He returned to Albania and organized a rebellion against Ottoman occupation.

With his military experience and leadership skills, he built an army and united Albanian princes. In 1443, he officially declared resistance against the Ottomans and was appointed the leader of the League of Lezha.

He led his army in numerous battles against the Ottomans and achieved impressive victories despite being outnumbered. His tactics and knowledge of the terrain helped him surprise and defeat his enemies.

His greatest victories were the Battle of Torvioll and the Battle of Mokra, which halted Ottoman expansion in Albania. He became a legend in his own country and a symbol of Albanian resistance against the Ottomans.

However, he also faced setbacks and had to fend off attacks from the Ottomans and their allies. His family was kidnapped by the Ottomans, and he had to deal with betrayal and intrigue within his own ranks.

He died in 1468, but his legacy lives on to this day. He was a hero who fought for the freedom of Albania, and his story inspired many Albanian nationalists in later centuries.
