The most awkward Victory Day parade on Estonian border
9 May 23 Residents of Narva, Estonia, came to the border to watch a concert in honor of May 9, which was organized for them in Ivangorod.
At the walls of the fortress and on the bank of the river the Russian side installed large screens, which show images of the war years and include songs of Victory.
Thousands would gather in Narva each year on May 9, when many European countries celebrate Victory Day to mark the end of World War Two, but the events were banned after Russia invaded Ukraine last year, and Soviet war monuments were removed from the town.
Also, despite the ban by the authorities, since the morning Estonians carried flowers to the monuments dedicated to the heroism of the Red Army.
