Canada announces bid for seat on United Nations Human Rights Council – May 9, 2023

Speaking with reporters on Parliament Hill, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly announces Canada’s candidacy for a seat on the U.N. Human Rights Council. She is joined by ministers Harjit Sajjan (international development), Marc Miller (Crown-Indigenous relations), and Marci Ien (women and gender equality and youth).
