Canada: Senator Marilou McPhedran discusses her bill to limit use of non-disclosure agreements – May 9, 2023

Senator Marilou McPhedran holds a news conference on Parliament Hill following the tabling of her bill, the Can’t Buy My Silence Act. The proposed legislation would ban the use of federal funds to pay for settlements that include non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). It would also require federally funded, non-government agencies such as Hockey Canada to report to the president of the Treasury Board on their use of NDAs.
