Canada: Access to abortion: minister for women Marci Ien announces funding – May 9, 2023

Marci Ien, the federal minister for women and gender equality and youth, announces more than $4.2 million in funding to the University of British Columbia’s Contraception and Abortion Research Team (CART) and Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights. The money will be delivered through the government’s Sexual and Reproductive Health Fund to strengthen access to abortion in Canada. Farah Khan (executive director for Action Canada to Sexual Health and Rights) and Wendy Norman (founder of CART) join the minister at the news conference on Parliament Hill.
