Is a Christian supposed to be perfect?

Does being a Christian mean you don't sin or that your now perfect? God knows your intent. And gives you a new heart. Christ consciousness is just being aware of sin and now having the spirit to reject evil resist it and hate it. That doesn't mean we don't fall back to worldly ways but we never stay there we strive to repent from it and be more like Christ. That's a Christian.
