BAKHMUT ABOUT TO FALL - Ukraine controls 2 SQ KM or less - Ukraine Conflict Report May 9 2023

Today on May 9th, Russia celebrated Victory day. In Ukraine Zelensky changed the designation to Europe Day instead. Fly overs were cancelled over security concerns. There was a significant security presence near the Kremlin & the entire event was more reserved as opposed to previous years.

Last night Russia launched what some are calling the largest missile strike yet on Ukrainian territory. Ukraine claims to have shot down almost all of the missiles and drones, however multiple explosions were reported & Russia claims to have hit every single one of their targets.

In Bakhmut, Ukraine is barely holding on, with all roads in & out of the city either under Russian fire or physical control. Notably, Ukraine was able to prevent the Russians from taking the city before Victory Day. Despite that it's evident that it's merely just a matter of time before the entire city falls under Russian control.
