Mulberry crash leaves 2 dead, multiple injured, authorities say

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said an early morning crash near Mulberry left two people dead and multiple others injured. According to authorities, around 5:40 a.m., an 18-year-old Bartow High School student was driving east in a red pickup truck on S.R. 60 West at the intersection of Pine Grove Road in Willow Oak, which is near Mulberry. A silver Ford Expedition headed west turned left onto the road and into the path of the pickup truck, which caused the vehicles to collide.
