Message Cult Harvesting Organs

Authorities in Kenya have confirmed that victims of Paul Mackenzie's "Message" sect had organs harvested during the Shakahola Massacre in what "has been a well-coordinated network involving several players." According to documents recently filed with the court system in Kenya, organs were removed from the bodies prior to burial in the mass graves that have been identified in the Shakahola Forest.

Mackenzie appeared in court on Tuesday facing terrorism charges for the more than 100 bodies found in mass graves. President Ruto appointed a commission to investigate into the deaths of the Branhamite sect for "torture and inhumane and degrading treatment of members and individuals linked to Pastor Paul Mackenzie", which apparently has led to identifying additional Branhamite sects in the region. Five people operating a Branhamite "home church" in a residential area of Nairobi County were arrested. Officials confirm that the "home church" was following the teachings of William Branham.

Many members of Branham's cult of personality meet informally in residences, buildings in residential areas, or rented buildings in town without advertising the group as a "church", playing recordings of Branham or reading quotes from Branham's sermons published by Spoken Word Publications and distributed by Voice of God Recordings in Jeffersonville, Indiana. These groups often slip by unnoticed, not being officially organized and operating as a church with the government. Some of these people, as was the case with Paul Mackenzie, have been radicalized.

The Message cult in Kenya has always been unusual to cult members in the United States, those unaware of the many radicalized sects of the cult in other countries. In 2018, the offices of Voice of God Recordings were temporarily closed due to widespread sexual misconduct. One “Message” cult minister sent a letter to VOGR headquarters in Jeffersonville demanding an explanation and an apology from headquarters, but to our knowledge, none was given.
