So the story goes...
Mind you there was a thunderstorm in Vegas a couple days before she brought it to the dealership.
My niece brought her car to the local Lexus dealership for a passenger-side headlight not turning on. They diagnosed it as a bad headlamp assembly. There is a malfunction "within" the assembly. Just that is said on paper. No specifics to why it's not working. They also said they replaced the bulb twice. That is what my nice mentioned to me.

So they quoted her $1600 for the headlamp assembly and 2.5 labor hours. The dealership charges $185 per labor hour. "But it depends on the work being done."
I called and left messages to the adviser to call me back. I wanted to ask more about the problem or problems within the headlight. But most important if the ballast module was still in good working condition. She never returned my call.

I got the car and the game plan was to switch the module to the driver-side and see what happens. If the module doesn't work. Then she would need to buy a new module. Upon opening the headlamp. Water was in the module and inside the headlight. I noticed later a crack on top on the headlamp. That was where the water was seeping inside through the crack. I tried to clean the module and lamp assembly but still it wouldn't work. The module will need to be replaced. Just remember, the diagnosis they did did not say anything about a bad module.

When i had the car. She called Lexus corporate to complain about the price of the part and no warranty coverage. They instead lowered the price of the repair to $1050 total part and labor.
I told her to just let them do it because it's an original part and that's a $1000 off with part labor. And they may have to replace the wiring.
They did the job but she had to pay additional $400 because they said it also had a bad ballast module.
