Hong Kong in 1930s

In the 1930s, the population of Hong Kong was over 800,000 people. An American bank called the "Bank of Friends" opened a branch in Hong Kong and started selling life insurance. The Hong Kong Telephone Company also introduced a new type of phone system that automatically connected calls and allowed customers to use phones with numbered dials.
